It has been a long time since I have written anything on my Blog, but when I found out that one of the greatest people I have ever met passed away it brought me to my keyboard!
Gus Karpouzis -aka- Capt. Gus died last night! When I found out I was in shock, even though I have known his health wasn't the best for a long time. Gus is a Legend in this City. I have known Gus since I was a very small child. Out of the 40 some years I had known him he had always stayed the same. Always with a smile and a joke. Wanting to talk to the Kids, show them his magic trick and then give them a piece of candy.
He not only made the BEST Cheesesteaks in Lancaster, he made people want to come back for a smile. Always willing to give something to someone for nothing. Gus had a Heart of Gold which had touched so many other hearts in this City.
Capt. Gus.... we will miss your smile, but we will never forget it!
