So you wanted a friend,really?

If you are a parent you must have heard this line so many times from your kids "but they're my friends". So really kids, how many of your friends were willing to clean your poopy diaper, feed you when you were hungry, take you to the doctor when you were sick and stayed up with you all night just to make sure you were getting better? How many of your friends were there to put a roof over your head so you didn't have to go homeless? If your answer is "well um, not many", then for the first time in your life you're correct!

Some how kids think that they know more than us parents, well at least most of them do. When we tell them to stay in school, don't do drugs, don't drink when you're under age, get a job to earn your own money and stop hanging around with the wrong crowd that we are some how mean and not being their "friend".

Well here is a *News Flash* for all you kids that think you know better, we are not just your parents but your "true friend"!

We are not just taxi drivers, an ATM, a cook and a housekeeper. So meet your new friend, my name is "Tough Love". You most likely never heard of me before because you were too worried about your "fake friends" to realize that your "true friend" has been by your side the whole entire time. I may not get high or drunk with you or tell you how sexy you look just to get in your pants. I may look old and seem stupid to you when you have no use for me. I may never ask a thing from you, except for your respect. I know that is a word you may not understand, but look it up in the dictionary and try it out sometime.

So if you're an Adult Parent you must know where I'm coming from. If you're a Kid, Young Adult or Young Adult Parent you have a lot to learn. Sometimes the truth hurts, if it does then I did my job!
